Paint the United States in Color My Flag
Thirteen bands first, then the canton, then stars — the round most players throw with pink.
The United States is the Color My Flag round everyone thinks they already know. Official media disagrees. One easel sits at 0.67% with a magenta field. The other sits at 99.99% with real red, white, and blue. This page is the how-to so that gap is not you. Pair it with controls on mobile and accuracy tips if your red is drifting pink.
This is not Click the Flag. You do not tap a country name. You paint the template. Wrong hues still look “American” in a thumbnail and still lose.
The geometry before the brush
- Thirteen horizontal stripes. Seven red, six white, starting and ending with red.
- Blue canton in the upper hoist, covering the first seven stripes (to the bottom of the fourth red).
- White stars on that blue. The live template’s star count and rows are what you copy, not a textbook 50 if the art is simplified.
Name those three layers out loud. Players who jump to stars on a blank sheet invent a fourth color and dump the round.
Paint order that actually scores
- Red stripes as bands. Lay the seven reds as full-width bars. Do not paint thirteen tiny rectangles one by one if the brush can drag a stripe.
- White stripes. The six whites sit between the reds. Leave them white from the canvas if the default is white; do not glaze them cream.
- Blue canton. A rectangle, not a triangle, not a circle. It must cover the correct stripe count. If your blue sits only on the top two stripes, the canton is too short.
- Stars last. White only. Equal-ish size. No gold outlines, no pink “highlights,” no extra ring.
Submit when the three official colors are in the right places. A missing star hurts less than a pink field. How to win is the same rule on every hard charge: fields first.
Why 0.67% happens
The client is not grading patriotism. It is grading pixels against the template.
- Pink or magenta red. You mixed, or you picked a nearby swatch. Use the darkest clean red the palette gives you. See the flag color chart.
- Cyan canton. That is a Portugal-style panic pick, not navy. The United States canton is a dark blue.
- Stars on red. You placed the canton too late and dotted white on a stripe.
- Too few stripes. Counting to thirteen under a timer is a skill. Count reds: there should be seven.
The official icon that shows a pink United States is a warning, not a cosmetic. Treat it as the fail state for this guide.
Mobile versus PC
On PC, drag the stripe. On a phone, zoom, then drag, then lift. Fat thumbs turn seven reds into a smear. If the brush overshoots into the canton zone, undo if the GUI allows it; otherwise restart the stripe before you place stars. Controls covers the lift timing. Practice plan
Play three United States templates in a row if the queue allows, or restart until you get one. After each score, write one miss: hue, stripe count, canton size, or stars. Hue misses go back to the color chart. Count misses mean you rushed. Canton-size misses mean you painted stars too early. Then play one S-tier flag from easiest flags so the next lookalike does not reset a streak you just rebuilt.
Do not buy 2x Wins to “fix” the United States. The pass multiplies a win you already earned. Codes on the codes hub will not paint stars either. IQ on stats records the round; it does not snap the canton.
When the template includes a detailed star field, it belongs next to hard flags in difficulty, even though every player “knows” the flag. Knowing is not painting. Paint the bands. Then the blue. Then the stars. Then stop.
